Internal Assessments (IA)
The Internal Assessment (IA) represents a dynamic and self-driven exploration of each chosen subject. As a mandatory coursework for all subjects, the IA engages students in a comprehensive study that is shaped by the specific subject pursued. Language disciplines may task students with oral presentations, while science fields often require hands-on laboratory investigations. Within this framework, students conduct a research piece that ranges from 800 to 3000 words, displaying a keen grasp of their chosen topic. The marks earned for the IA hold substantial weight, influencing the final grades awarded in respective subjects by up to 50%.

Extended Essays (EE)
Graded by IB-appointed examiners, the Extended Essay uses a combination of formative assessment (the Reflections on planning and progress form) and summative assessment (the EE Research) to grade each student. The final work is externally assessed by examiners on 5 criterions and is marked on a scale from 0 to 34. These scores relate to a band from E to A. Read more from the official IBDP EE rubrics.

Theory of Knowledge

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) Theory of Knowledge (ToK) is a core course designed to challenge students to reflect on the nature of knowledge itself. It asks the fundamental question: "How do we know what we claim to know?" ToK promotes critical thinking by exploring different Areas of Knowledge (like History, Natural Sciences, and The Arts) and Ways of Knowing (such as Reason, Emotion, and Sense Perception). It encourages students to recognize personal biases, evaluate evidence, and appreciate diverse cultural perspectives. Assessed via a ToK Exhibition and a ToK Essay, the course develops the sophisticated analytical and communication skills vital for university-level study.
